MOSAIC Group [Architects and Remodelers] recently won two Chrysalis Awards for a kitchen remodel that used custom cabinetry from Adelphi Kitchens & Cabinetry.

“The award is definitely a testament to MOSAIC Group’s quality of work and its ingenuity,” said Stratton Yatron, co-owner and CFO, of Adelphi Kitchens & Cabinetry. The renovation was judged on the use of materials, the use of space, integration into the existing space, quality of design and creativity. “With custom styles and sizes, we’re able to give our interior design and remodeling professionals the ultimate flexibility— with custom colors and finishes and sizes that can be specified down to fractions of an inch,” said Yatron.

Intended for a family with two sets of twins, the kitchen remodel responds to the homeowner’s request that organization be the project’s number-one priority. “Every layer of the project was designed for efficiency and maximizing storage space,” said interior designer Catherine Trugman, of MOSAIC Group [Architects and Remodelers].

The existing kitchen was cramped and isolated from other rooms of the house. In addition, with only one window looking out to the garage, the room was dark and outdated. MOSAIC Group [Architects and Remodelers] chose custom cabinetry from Adelphi Kitchens & Cabinetry to maximize space and organization. An island was installed for additional seating and storage and topped with granite countertops for a polished look.

Featuring soft neutral tones to lighten the room, the white birch Adelphi cabinetry was custom painted to complement the white walls. The clean lines of Renaissance Tile’s handmade “Nest” tile in the backsplash and the Masterpiece Lighting fixtures give the kitchen a contemporary look.

“The relationship between the kitchen and the other active areas in and around the house truly makes this room the hub of the home,” said William Fadul, co-owner of MOSAIC Group [Architects and Remodelers]. “Now the kitchen is both beautiful and functional for this active family. It’s been a huge transformation for the family.”

MOSAIC Group [Architects and Remodelers] Design/Build’s submission of this remodeled kitchen was a category winner in the 2009 Kitchen Remodel Over $100,000 category and a National winner. The Chrysalis Awards honor the finest remodeling projects in the nation that reflect professional excellence in the residential and commercial remodeling industry.
