The relationship between the kitchen and the other active areas in and around the house, truly make this room the “hub of the home.” Organization was the number one priority of the homeowners, so we designed efficiency into every layer of the project. The original 800 sq. ft. 1910 bungalow was remodeled using Earthcraft Certified guidelines to become a 2,000 sq. ft. dream home for a young couple and their growing family. By adding 1,200 sq. ft. of conditioned space, they are now enjoying their Craftsman-style home with all the charm and character of the original bungalow while taking advantage of “green” building initiatives. Everyone wins by making “green” remodeling decisions, but the big payoff is not just savings, but the overall quality of life and knowing that your footprint on the environment is reduced.
