Brookhaven Kitchen Redesign
Smart Use of Small Spaces
How could we honor this 1940s Brookhaven cottage bungalow, and yet design a modern kitchen for the chef of the family to replace the cramped original kitchen? Expanding the footprint of the kitchen was not an option.
Remarkably, the kitchen designer was able to re-purpose the existing kitchen space to create a beautiful, open period kitchen bookended by an elevated cherry breakfast bar and a mudroom space that wasn’t even on the wish list at the beginning. And as another bonus, a tiny powder room was converted into a striking wet bar.
