This porch design provides a great deal of utility, including boat storage below and a sleeping loft above the main space. But perhaps more importantly, we successfully married two very distinct architectural styles—English Tudor meets North Carolina Retreat. It’s a true showpiece: A heavy timber cedar structure that transports you to a place miles away from urban life. The aroma of the cedar creates a cozy outdoor living room perfect for lounging, reading a good book or napping on a cool afternoon. This became the client’s “mountain home,” right in their own Atlanta backyard.
