Metro Atlanta based MOSAIC Group [Architects and Remodelers] won a Regional Chrysalis Award for Remodeling Excellence in a Residential Bathroom Category. The entries were judged on overall design, the creative use of space and materials, and the degree to which the project enhanced the original structure.
The same project also won first place in a Bathroom Category during the recent Contractor of the Year awards competition sponsored by the Atlanta Chapter of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI).
The Chrysalis Awards program, begun in 1994, recognizes the nation’s best work in 15 general categories of residential and commercial remodeling. The competition is open to professional remodelers and design professionals in the United States.
The clients had one simple request: “Please re-create our Master Bath area to have a “WOW” factor.” The builder-grade, outdated master bathroom and closets needed a serious makeover to bring them in line with other past updates to the 20+-year-old Atlanta home. The spaces were inefficient, the lighting was poor, and the flow didn’t work with their daily routine.
The program requirements called for the following:
1. A larger footprint to accommodate the desired changes
2. An inspired space
3. A larger, curb-less shower to allow graceful aging in place
4. A beautiful and organized closet with natural daylight into the space
