Timeless Transitions: Reviving History with Modern Elegance
Location: Druid Hills
The Challenge
This young family recently moved into their 1920’s era home in the Druid Hills neighborhood. There were two bathrooms, a hall bath and a Jack and Jill bath that were in desperate need of a full overhaul due to limited storage, small footprints and outdated fixtures and finishes. One of the bathrooms even had an existing window on the front of the house hidden behind the shower wall tile. The clients were interested in intelligent design to be congruent with the existing historic home, yet be modern, practical and updated.
The Solution
The footprint of each of the bathrooms were expanded into adjacent closets to create much more modern layouts and practical space for the family to use. While neither bathroom is large, they now function beautifully with just the right amount of space. The finishes selected respect the history of the home while creating an elegant touch with just the right amount of modern amenities.
