Chastain Park Bathroom Renovation
Vaulted Splendor
Location: Chastain Park
The Challenge
This primary bath began as the original builder grade bathroom. It was in need of an update to not only modernize the space but to also address our clients concern that the bathroom felt cramped. In this case, there was no space for us to cannibalize in order to make the space bigger so we had to be creative in our design approach.
The Solution
To address the cramped feel of the bathroom our design included 3 key elements to solve this challenge. First, we added the vaulted ceiling to lift the eye up in the space. Second, we added a glass shower. While the shower took up the same floor space the all-glass enclosure gave the room a sense of openness. The all-glass design also allowed us to make it a steam shower as an added bonus. And finally, we made the tub free standing. By removing it from the built-in unit it again gave a better sense of flow. Some other special touches included the heated towel rack, overhead wood beam, porcelain wood tiles and oil rubbed bronze fixtures. Together with the white quartz marble counters, white porcelain marble tile shower and the white upper cabinets this bathroom is the best of both worlds with both light modern touches as well as warm, rustic elements.
