Making Space for Style

When you’re confronted with a small space, it just takes a little more creativity to achieve the results you want. This dated powder room was located in a house that was built in the late 1960s. The L-shaped space didn’t function well with the toilet tucked off to the side.

It’s now updated, more contemporary and fits the style of the house. The wall-mounted faucet and countertop, which is made of solid walnut and crafted by a local cabinetmaker, takes advantage of the narrow room. The mosaic-tile backsplash adds contemporary flair and texture in a palette of brown, blue and white, while the wood-framed mirror and clear-glass pendant lights make the space feel much larger than it is.
