The Challenge
The former kitchen area just didn’t work well for this active family of five in Sandy Springs. It felt choppy and disorganized, with the work space visually disconnected from the breakfast area. However, the brick wall provided a unique visual detail and an air of warmth, so it made sense to incorporate this feature into the new design.
The Solution
An open floor plan unifies the existing spaces to create an elegant and roomy galley-style kitchen, perfect for gathering family and friends. The classic white cabinets are complemented by the textured black granite countertops and bring the room up to date — while bricks from the original kitchen re-purposed behind the cooktop incorporate a touch of nostalgia for this metro Atlanta home.
