News Release, October 26, 2010.
The statistics are alarming! Over 20 percent of Georgia’s children and over 11 percent of senior adults live in poverty. More than 30 percent of the people who receive food from the Atlanta Community Food Bank must choose between buying medicine or food. MOSAIC Group [Architects and Remodelers] wants to put a dent in those disturbing numbers. The company will sponsor a Food Drive during November to benefit the Atlanta Community Food Bank.
MOSAIC Group [Architects and Remodelers] will accept non-perishable food donations Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. at the company’s Atlanta office, located at 2358 Perimeter Park Drive, Suite 300. The Food Drive will run Nov. 1-30.
“The Atlanta Community Food Bank does a tremendous job helping to reduce hunger, food insecurity and poverty in our city,” said William Fadul, co-owner of MOSAIC Group [Architects and Remodelers]. “ACFB will distribute the food collected during our drive to community kitchens, churches and other partner agencies that help low-income Georgians who struggle with food insecurity. Due to the sluggish economy, demand is up considerably over previous years.”
Some of the most needed food items are peanut butter, canned tuna, canned fruits and vegetables, macaroni and cheese dinners, and whole grain cereals.
