Blank Slate to Perfect Escape
Location: Smyrna/Vinings
The Challenge
The basement, originally unfinished and untouched since the home was built in the early 2000s, presented a blank slate with significant potential. The homeowners, who have two young children, were in need of additional room to accommodate their family and create a space that everyone could enjoy together.
The Solution
This walk-out basement was completely transformed into a functional and inviting living area. Walls were carefully removed to open up the layout, which created a better flow and maximized the usable space. A dedicated home office was designed with pocket doors to provide both privacy and versatility when needed. The addition of a stylish kitchenette and bar area, complete with ample storage, brings ease and practicality. A full bathroom was also added for further convenience. A unique and playful feature was also introduced – a secret hideaway, specifically designed to be a fort-like escape for the homeowners’ children.
With thoughtful planning and execution, this basement has been reimagined as a warm and welcoming retreat. It now serves as a versatile area where the entire family can work, play, and relax together, perfectly tailored to meet their needs.
